HR called and collected info like experience, notice period, compensation expectations etc on Thurday. Scheduled first round on a Saturday. They asked basic java questions and some coding questions for one hour. Cleared first round and scheduled second round on same day. Second round was also coding plus some java collection questions. Cleared that too. Scheduled manager round(3rd) on next Monday. it was a techno managerial round. Interview went well. After that no news. I dropped an email to HR asking feedback. she called me and said that they are looking for someone who can join early and hence my profile is on hold. I'm still not clear why they scheduled interviews when they already know my notice period.

Entretien
I had an video interview live with some background questions of previous projects and an overview of their project and product. They asked me some high level Java OO questions and design. Somewhat challenging, and I did well.
They followed up with a take home project where I had 24 hours to compete, in java. I took the project and found the bugs, wrote full TDD unit test suites, and also refactored the code into streams instead of old looking for loops. the code was reduced to 25% from the original.
I thought this was a winner with my work. Ironically an email came back and said I was not technical enough or didnt get the answer right. I wrote a full suite of tests before, and after. The code proved it was right. I was rejected and baffled why I was rejected. They did me a favor, someone there was not savy enough to recognize quality work.
