      Entretien

      The HR department lacks proper followup and professionalism. I applied online which included submitting a resume, and received a phone call the same day to schedule an onsite interview at the Ann Arbor location, approximately an hour from where I live. The HR representative I spoke with told me he had been working there for approximately 6 years. When I arrived for the interview, I was taken into a conference room with the HR representative who immediately asked me what my salary requirements for the position were, as well as what I was making at my current position. I proceeded to let him know I didn't feel it was appropriate to discuss this before an interview, and although he pressed me to get an answer, I politely declined. He then requested a copy of my resume, and it was clear he wasn't prepared and was going to make photocopies. After our conversation wrapped up, I waited for 30 minutes alone in the interview room because the HR representative had incorrectly scheduled the meeting as a phone screening, so they weren't prepared for my onsite interview. I received a phone call the day after the interview from the HR representative letting me know Nexient would be making me an offer as a Junior Developer in the low 50s. This was quite surprising to me, as I have received offers for mid-level positions with starting salaries 50% higher. I thanked him for the call and politely wrapped up, and his last word/response was "whatever", and he hung up the phone. This was the most unprofessional interview process I've experienced. The HR component was substandard and lacking professionalism.

      I completely share your disappointment that your interviewer was inadequately prepared for your meeting. That shouldn’t have happened, and I apologize. I would like to offer some general observations about Nexient recruitment: In keeping with employment law in certain states where we operate, it’s not our practice to inquire about salary history. However, we do ask about salary expectations in order to ensure that the company and the candidate are generally aligned. We have a rigorous recruitment process that considers not only work history and education, but also technical expertise and critical behavioral assessments. For example, for developers, we evaluate depth not only in individual programming languages, but also in Agile collaboration, enterprise software development, and other essential success factors. There are times we come across candidates who need formal training in one or more of these areas and we consider them for an appropriate role at Nexient. People who join us at junior levels enjoy additional formal training and mentoring to help them deepen their technical and business competencies. There are also fast track opportunities to accelerate your progress over a short time. Over time, we’ve found these processes have helped us build an exceptional team and a vibrant, collaborative workplace where people can build satisfying careers. No system is perfect though, and undoubtedly there must be times when we miss out on a great candidate. Wishing you all the best in your job search.

      It was straight to the point, and JS questions, and one thinking question . It was calm and relaxing. The behavioral question was also good and were related to the job and the scrum process
