I applied through 14 West, which is a staffing company that is a part of the Agora companies - NewMarket is also an Agora affiliate. First, I had a phone interview with a 14 West employee, he then scheduled an in-person interview with NewMarket at the end of the phone call and followed up via email. The interview at NewMarket was with a hiring manager and a department manager who took turns asking questions. They were professional but friendly, and their questions were mostly standard interview questions as well as some conversation surrounding the nature of the position and what I would need to be comfortable with in the role. The room in which the interview was conducted had glass walls on 3 sides so I could see everything going on in the office (and they could see me). It didn't bother me much but they allowed me to choose a seat anywhere around the table so I would recommend facing a side with less going on if you are easily distracted. They were straightforward about marketing largely to an older, conservative audience because that is where they have the most success selling their products. Though these are not necessarily the values of the company itself or its employees, an employee would have to be comfortable addressing customers of this demographic. They contacted me less than a week later saying that they hired internally, and I got a message from 14 west as well as one of the interviewers.
