I had an initial telephone call with the hiring leader to determine whether it was worth progressing with the hiring process. To be honest, the person was one of the rudest interviewers I have ever had the pleasure of speaking too.
The interviewer was abrupt, rude and angry. It was not a conversation, it was more like an interrogation. It did not help that the interviewer cut me off before the elapsed time.
It now occurs to be why there are so many bad reviews of this company on Glassdoor. I think only 63% of employees recommend the company. When the hiring leader said that the work atmosphere was high pressure and demanding, this did not fill me with much enthusiasm for the role. He was rather evasive when I asked about if the company had a high attrition rate.
It was probably the only time that I contemplated sending an email to the HR Department to withdraw my application. With that said, I did not progress further with the interview process. I am grateful to have had a lucky escape - if I had got the job, I would have ended up working for the person.
