I was an internal candidate in my role for 1 year and in good standing. I had received a very good performance review with a solid merit increase and a small bonus in late December 2023. I was working on the business side and wanted to move to the newsroom side of the organization which was my reason for initially joining the organization. I interviewed with 4 people, which included both the hiring manager and recruiter all in one day. It took 3 1/2 work hours to complete. I was told by the recruiter at the end that everyone gave me excellent feedback. I leave for a one week vacation and on the following Friday when I returned I was let go. This was retaliation by my manager who was afraid of “how it would look” for the Office of the CEO if I left after 1 year. This woman has unchecked authority in her role and she should be fired. She asked HR to “go along” with the charade so that I wouldn’t have any legal means to say the process was unfair. Underhanded, political tactics by an organization that espouses to uphold ethics.

phone screen and in person interview after with a number of folks. Very good communication and quick responses from the recruiting team. The recruiter was main point of contact though.

Questions d'entretien [2]
Question 1
HR must hire interns or high school students, because the person I dealt with had no email etiquette and was poorly spoken. NOT a good representative of the company.
The interviews themselves were informative and enjoyable, but HR left a bad taste in my mouth.
