J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez New York Life (Knoxville, TN) en janv. 2022

The interview process was very easy. They spent more time trying to sell you on the company instead of asking many tough questions. The team leader conducted the interview while an associate listened in and contributed here and there. The questions mostly involved details about my personal background. They threw in typical interview questions like "what is your biggest strength and what is your biggest weakness?" Overall, my impression is that they are looking for people who are coachable and will buy into their system. On the second interview, they spent time explaining the compensation structure, which includes a base "salary" dependent on your performance during certain times of the year that are monitored. They offered me the position but after researching their competition, I did not accept based on the pricing I'd their products. Personally, I want to believe in what I'm selling and, in the back of my mind, would always be feeling like my potential clients could get the same kinds of products for much better value elsewhere.

It was simple and they ask basic questions, but really they are trying to pitch to you their great company and compensation plan that they try to sell to you.

The initial round was over zoom. They then make you go to a 3 hour seminar to discuss the company and position. If you want to move forward, you have to do an unpaid 50 hour training online. If you don't pass the test, that's it. You have to front the $100 for the test, they pay you back if hired. The job is completely commissioned, no salary, so if you aren't selling, you don't get anything. You also have to find your own clients. One of the very disturbing questions I was asked at the interview was how would I source customers. There aren't that many people looking for life and death insurance.

Question 1
How would I find wealthy people who needed life and death insurance?

There was a message on LinkedIn asking if I was interested in learning more about the position and then I was set up with an introductory interview on Teams the next day. After that, I was given the option to move forward for the second interview which I declined.
