The top executive was the CEO, who rarely attends interviews, but he will occasionally drop in if he is in between meetings. There were 4 other senior level execs/managers who were all on time and in the room waiting for you when you arrived. The CEO was on his cell phone reviewing your resume in 'real time' and was fully attentive during the time he was there. In regard to your point about a 'family' business, the CEO and his wife are the only two family members working together in the business. We often refer to our co-workers as "family members" because we are a close-knit organization with lots of team members who have worked together for many years and we strive for our workplace to feel like a family (and it does!); perhaps you misconstrued that during our discussion.
