The first stage was the normal phone screen to learn about me and what technologies I was familiar with. After that, I was brought in for an in person interview where I sat down with the VP of Engineering and one of the senior engineers. They started out by having me talk about a couple of personal projects I had on my resume and challenges I had with them. I was asked one algorithm question where I had to describe how I would solve it without actually writing the code for it. The rest of the interview was questions about how I would design systems to handle situations like making sure multiple processes weren't working on the same data simultaneously and things of that nature. After the technical portion of the interview, I sat down the the CEO and had a good conversation with him. He didn't ask me too many questions, it was more a chance for me to ask questions about the company and get to know him.
Overall it was a great experience. Everyone was very friendly throughout the process and they did a good job of actually assessing what I knew about software engineering instead of how well I could solve algorithm trivia questions.

Met with several members of the engineering team and worked through a mock exercise as a group to identify requirements and steps for building out the proposed feature. We also estimated the work that we broke out in order to assign point values for planning a mock sprint.

First step: standard HR overview via phone. Second step: more in-depth overview with VP of Engineering by phone. Third step: On-site interview. Met with VP of Engineering and another developer, then met with CEO and COO. First interview was mostly a review of past dev experience with some questions about design patterns, domain specific challenges, and one algorithm related question. CEO/COO interview was mostly questions on experience, and screening for cultural fit.
