After submitting resume, was asked to respond to several typical interview questions on a video app, after a 6 week delay was asked to do an ASAP phone interview with a peer then come in ASAP for a 12 person panel interview lasting three hours. The app is a great way to screen out diversity and make the applicant uncomfortable (have to video yourself speaking to an app with a 2 min timer to finish each question), the delay signaled they didn't know what they wanted, the rush to then move forward when they were ready was imbalanced and inconsiderate, the phone screen with a peer was again all about them (it took me 2.5 hours to answer the app questions, I should have been brought in, not asked for another step and it's also inappropriate to not have the candidate speak to a hiring manager vs a peer). From the job description to the interview, it's clear they did not know what they wanted. There were too many involved in the interview process, ensuring conflicting opinions. The thinking about the candidate -- do I have time to ask questions, do I have a break, etc was not a priority. The process was very one-sided -- from the decision to use an app to the delay to the whole focus on getting too many employees to agree on any candidate. I was re-asked questions I answered on the app and then again in the on-site meetings. They decided it was a "split decision" and concluded they didn't know what they wanted and the job would go on long term hold. Total waste of time because all the signs were there. I did get a tour and the office is completely open ; the CEO sits a small table like everyone else.
