      Entretien

I only met with a few members of the team very briefly. Spent the majority of the interview with the CEO. They did not allow more than 10 minutes to talk with other scientists and it was supervised the whole time. They were very secretive and did not have a good culture.

They were very vague about what I would be working on, and seemed to email me at very strange hours of the night. Something seems suspicious in how they treated me like I don't really want the job and am just there to steal there wannabe Theranos technology (take a look at the current news regarding theranos to see where this company would be, if they were a real company) It's very clear that there's a heavy amount of fake reviews on this website. There's nowhere near as many employees as there have been reviews in the past few months and there's absolutely no way they could fit that amount of people in their office. When I asked how big their company was, they also gave me a number that is inconsistent with the Linkedin reviews. Makes you think.

This was the strangest interview I have ever had. Most of the conversations were completely one-sided and the company seemed disorganized. I thought it was a little strange that the first thing they did when I arrived was bring in a non-disclosure agreement for me to sign, before I was even introduced to anyone (??). Another strange thing was the contrast between the initial office space they showed me and the laboratory space. The main office was a beautiful, elaborate, luxurious area with a multimillion-dollar view of Boston. It felt like it was there for appearances. I was not given a tour of the lab, which was on the lower-level, but did make it into the entryway. From the looks, it appeared cramped and drab like a cluttered corner of a basement storage space. I mean... it didn't even look like they had a dedicated break room, as there was a microwave in the tiny lobby/hallway (?). But I don't know, since I never did see the lab. But the quality difference in the spaces was striking, and could be indicative of their priorities. They asked fairly normal interview questions, and the people seemed pleasant enough. The employees I spoke to expressed that the CEO wanted to meet with applicants and it was important that she interview me, yet no one seemed to know when or if she would be available. They told me she was leaving a meeting and would meet with me in 20 minutes, then that she "took a phone call" and would meet with me afterward, then something else came up and she wasn't available that day after all, and would call me another day. I scheduled a time for a phone interview (on the weekend, no less) and when the time came, an employee called and asked if I could wait 25 more minutes. When I finally spoke to the CEO, it was a short, rushed, one-sided conversation. When she started to end the call, I asked if I could ask her some questions, and she seemed surprised and taken aback. She rattled off that she was "supposed to be on another call, but go ahead...." When I asked some very basic and specific questions about the job duties for the position, she completely blew them off and did not give me an real answers. Sorry, I didn't get the feeling that employees were valued or respected. The company felt creepy, almost like a cult. I didn't get an offer, but I can't say I'm crying about it.
