Perhaps the first red flag should have been when the recruiter immediately mentioned having taken a pay cut to work here. Despite having a great interview, I was disappointed when the conversation seemed to take a turn to be all about my "basement figure" instead of getting to know more about the role and team. Phrases like "I'm not legally allowed to ask you what you're currently making." and "I'm not going to negotiate with you... but..." while then proceeding to negotiate made it seem like the recruiter and/or company were more interested in filling the role for a certain dollar figure than finding the perfect fit. Maybe just a one off strange interview, but I was disappointed all the same.
