Pretty straightforward. Asked me where I wanted to be but couldn’t guarantee where I would be until after I was in Japan and at their mercy. Even though the job listing was for a certain area in which they claimed to have various openings. You are taking advantage of young people wanting to come to Japan and quickly becoming a black company if you’re not already there.

Entretien
Surprisingly really warm, friendly and informal. You will be interviewed by a fellow Westerner. I was asked the usual questions of "why did you come to Japan?", "how long would you wish to stay in Japan?", but also asked about previous teaching experiences and situations. You are free to ask any questions you like; of which, I had several.

Entretien
I applied online through Gaijinpot and got an email back asking me to an interview less than a week later. They asked for a scan or clear photo of my documents (university degree, passport, residence card). I went in for the in person interview and this took about 30 minutes, and I was told I would hear back within a few days.

Question 1
They asked a few different questions. One was what three qualities are important for an English teacher. Another was to teach a quick improv lesson to an intermediate speaker about the difference between 'borrow' and 'lend'. Also, an improv on an introduction with a low level English speaker and picking a conversation topic based off their responses.
