      Entretien pour Mechanical Design Engineer

      2 sept. 2011
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      Houston, TX
      Aucune offre
      Expérience neutre
      Entretien facile

      Candidature

Le processus a pris 1 jour. J'ai passé un entretien chez NOV (Houston, TX) en juil. 2011

      Entretien

The experience I had with NOV was highly unprofessional. I traveled a reasonable distance for the interview, no reimbursement like some others I have had. I actually discovered when I arrived that HR made an error. I was interview for a position that I had not originally been selected for. I actually welcomed this as the new position was a design position, which I favored. The Interview process went well and lasted 3 hours. I spoke to 3 different people (Dept. Manager, Team Manager, and a possible future co-worker). I was told that they were impressed and given an application to fill out and return. I did this promptly and was told within three weeks I should hear from NOV. Three weeks went by and I checked in to be informed that things were delayed by summer vacations. I have tried to check back multiple times over the past month with the HR agent and the engineer I had spoken with. No Response!!! I have now taken a job with a respectable aerospace defense company that I view as a progression from NOV. Therefore, I have no hard feelings but do feel that the company is unprofessional and highly unorganized from my experience.

Interview was a lot easier here.

      Entretien pour Mechanical Design Engineer

      24 juin 2014
      Employé (anonyme)
      Houston, TX
      Offre acceptée
      Expérience positive
      Entretien moyen

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 1 jour. J'ai passé un entretien chez NOV (Houston, TX) en mai 2014

      Entretien

I applied for this position through the NOV careers board, and received an interview call two days later. My interview was on-site, with a panel of engineering managers and directors. The interview was straightforward, and I was asked questions pertaining to the job description and my resume. It was informal, yet professional. The work culture seemed quite typical of an engineering company. People were in cubicles in the middle of a large office area, and there were conference rooms, and offices surrounding the cubicles.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

The engineering director asked me questions about my music shows, since I have performed shows in college. It was a friendly question asked towards to end of the interview, and something other hiring, or engineering managers never asked before.

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via une autre source. Le processus a pris plus d'une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez NOV

      Entretien

First interview was approximately one hour with a hiring manager, followed by a second four hour interview with the department director and two other hiring managers.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Common behavioral questions and inquiry into past project and overcoming problems. One manager had some basic physics/engineering problems which were a little tricky but I think he was mostly looking for an approach to problem solving instead of the correct answer.
