      Entretien

I initially applied for the job in early June and was contacted for an interview in late June. I had five interviews (the last in early August). Since then there has been radio silence. Did an initial interview with a Senior Developer. It was pretty simple, he basically just asked me a bunch of those tech interview trivia questions that anyone can google and that have no bearing on whether or not you can do a job (e.g. What is a hash table?), but we also talked a bit about my experiences. He was very nice. Second interview was with an HR rep and again it was the usual, who are you? why do you want to work for us? Job history, salary history etc... Again the girl was very nice and things went well. Third Interview was with another Senior Developer who had no clue why he had been given my resume but he wanted to move forward with the process. Again a very nice person and the same basic tech interview "tell me about yourself?" Tech Trivia questions. Fourth Interview was in person and lasted close to 3 hours and involved 5 interviewers. It was originally scheduled for 10-days in advance, so I took the day off work. But the next day they called back and asked me to reschedule on one day warning. OK. The First 30-mins of the interview was a code review session. That seemed to go well. The last two hours was a lot more of the same as the phone interviews. Tell me about yourself and a lot of tech trivia and also some problem solving exercises. At this point, I noticed the interviewers splitting into two camps: those who were interested in my work experiences and my actual problem solving skills and my ability to think and then those who only asked tech questions. At the end of this process I was told I would hear in a week. One week to the day at 5:30pm I was called for yet another phone interview. This time it would be with the Head of Technology. This fifth interview was exactly the same as the first two phone interviews and at the end I was once again told that I would hear something in a week. It has been 3 weeks and counting and not even a form letter of rejection has arrived yet.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Nothing really difficult. Just be prepared to answer a lot of questions about tech definitions and such. e.g What is the difference between a well formed XML document and a legal XML document?
