The hiring director was great to work with. However, the panel and final-stage interviews with the two other regional sales directors felt unwelcoming and condescending. They showed little interest in sales or discovery skills. The clear expectation is that you arrive as a product expert. Be prepared for an interview style that can feel dismissive if you can't match their technical product knowledge.

Question 1
"tell me why you would or wouldn't prioritize this account"
Assessment test that takes over 2 hours. A few interviews with the hiring manager, then a panel interview, then a "challenge" presentation. They give you a region and tell you to pick 7-10 companies you would target for Mongo's Services.
Although they will tell you they do not expect you to know the product and how to pitch it, this is false. They told me my strategy on the accounts I chose was spot on and even agreed to my Top Target account. This is the majority of what I spent my time on, research, and a lot of it. Things went south in my presentation at the "pitch part". I thought I was following directions in the regard of speaking to what they wanted on the slide, but apparently they wanted me to put it in my own words and pitch Mongo and what they solve.
This is the ONLY part in the process where I did not do great and I was not given an offer. I thought this was highly unfortunate and frustrating as I put so much time and effort, they agreed that I had the skill set and proved my target strategy was to their liking. Ultimately was passed on for not being able to pitch Mongo to their standard. Something I undoubtably could have been coached and trained on. Overall it was a good learning experience but a bit frustrating result for something I haven't been trained on yet.

The best hiring process I've ever done. Very detailed, complex and complete. Gives the company the opportunity to really understand the fit of the candidate and also gives the candidate the opportunity to understand the company way of work.

Question 1
The most common question is "Why MongoDB?" and don't think the answer is easy ;)
J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez MongoDB (Dubaï) en août 2025

It was one of the strangest interview processes I’ve ever experienced. Instead of HR reaching out to me after my application, it was directly the sector manager. He said he wanted to have an initial interview, and so we did. It was more of a casual chat rather than a structured interview — we didn’t really go into background, strategy, or sales processes. To give you an idea of how casual it was: he occasionally checked his phone and even used one of those electronic cigarettes during the conversation.
At the end of the meeting, he mentioned there would be an assessment, which they would share with me, and that based on the results, the next steps would be decided. I completed the assessment, and during this time, we were even in contact via WhatsApp. After submitting it, I informed him as well.
After that, complete silence. All messages stopped. My questions went unanswered. My messages weren’t even read. I assumed the process was over (at least for me it was), but I still wanted to receive some feedback. Yet, no reply ever came. Not even an automated rejection notice :)
I was ghosted. Not exactly the most professional behavior.

It was a casual talk. They asked my Bachelor, some of about my experience.
