J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez MobilizeGreen (Brigham City, UT) en avr. 2026

      Entretien

Well-run selection process, unprofessional communication once placement fell through I completed the full MobilizeGreen selection process for a Maintenance Fellowship — supplemental application, pre-screen phone interview, reference collection, and a formal panel interview with four USFWS staff members including the site's refuge manager. During the pre-screen call, I was told that if selected, my packet would be sent to a host site, and if that site didn't accept me, it would simply be forwarded to another until a placement was secured. The process was described as iterative, not competitive — the clear implication being that placement was a matter of when, not if. Following that call, conversations moved to stipend logistics and June orientation dates, reinforcing that understanding. That framing made what followed particularly frustrating. Starting in early May, communication from MobilizeGreen effectively stopped. Messages sent during normal business hours routinely went 48 to 72 hours without a response. I had to follow up twice — in mid-May and again at the end of the month — just to get basic status updates. At no point did anyone from MobilizeGreen proactively reach out to inform me that my placement had fallen through. I found out entirely by pursuing it myself. When I finally asked directly whether they were no longer moving forward with me, I did not receive a straight answer. Instead, I was redirected to an email address I had never been given before and told to use it for "organized communications." That response — to a direct yes-or-no question from a candidate who had completed two rounds of interviews and spent over two months in active engagement — is not a professional standard. The early stages of the process are genuinely well-organized, and the staff I interacted with were professional and friendly throughout. However, if your placement falls through, do not expect to be informed. You will need to follow up repeatedly, and even then, clear answers are not guaranteed. I would strongly advise keeping other opportunities open and not treating any verbal indication of progress as a commitment.

Given a scenario where you and a partner must hike up a mountain to dismantle and retrieve a weather monitoring system, what would you bring with you?
