Multi-step process, but 100% virtual. First phone then video chats. Which is standard and it's all done over the same platform, Blue Jeans which is similar to Zoom. Application: Candidates usually start by submitting an application online through Meta's careers website or through platforms like LinkedIn. Screening: The recruiting team screens applications to identify candidates whose skills and experience match the job requirements. This may involve a review of resumes, portfolios, and/or LinkedIn profiles. Initial Interview: Qualified candidates are typically contacted for an initial interview, which may be conducted over the phone or via video call. This interview may focus on the candidate's background, skills, and interests, as well as provide an opportunity for the candidate to learn more about the company and the role. Technical Assessment: Depending on the role, candidates may be asked to complete a technical assessment to demonstrate their skills and knowledge relevant to the position. This could involve coding challenges, problem-solving exercises, or other assessments tailored to the specific role. On-site Interviews: For candidates who pass the initial screening and technical assessment stages, Meta often invites them for on-site interviews at one of their offices. These interviews typically involve meeting with multiple team members, including hiring managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. The format may include technical interviews, behavioral interviews, and/or case study discussions. Culture Fit Assessment: In addition to assessing technical skills, Meta places importance on cultural fit. Candidates may have interviews focused on assessing how well they align with Meta's values, work ethic, and collaborative culture. Decision and Offer: After the interview process is complete, Meta's hiring team meets to discuss feedback from interviewers and make a hiring decision. If a candidate is selected, they will receive a job offer outlining details such as compensation, benefits, and start date. Onboarding: Once a candidate accepts the offer, they go through an onboarding process to familiarize themselves with Meta's policies, tools, and culture before officially joining the company.

      Entretien

I was surprised at how casually a team of recruiters took an interview with a fellow recruiter. Given that I did not receive an offer, I suspect the decision to not move forward was made early because my interviewers showed a very clear lack of interest in what I had to say. One even spent most of the interview sending messages on his phone.
