It was a long process with a few stages and it was helpful that some of the interviews were held back to back to ensure efficiency. Weird thing was that out of 5-6 interviewers/managers only 1 who would have actually worked with this role. Only 1 of them knew about what the team was doing so there were an awkward moments when they asked me to ask questions about the roles. One of the recruiters was tasked to offer mentoring prior to and in between the interviews but they did not seem to have the tools and willingness to mentor. They wanted the calls to be very efficient and moved very quickly to "is there anything else you want to ask" without allowing a detailed and thorough conversation to my questions (I started a conversation on how the interviewers would evaluate my answers and how I could make up for me being a non-native speaker). They just repeated some general information and told me to read the guideline (that was also very general) and emphasized that I have to be confident that I almost felt bad for asking multiple questions although I thought that was what mentoring was supposed to be - to help a candidate be more prepared and informed, not just to be confident. After they mentioned they did not decide to move forward with me they said because in my answers I didn't give context which I took note about but at the same time I thought it was ironic that they repeated my comment. Lastly they offered help if I wanted to approach another role and as soon as I mentioned I am interested in they simply said I needed to apply directly to the recruiter and it was not a role that they manage. I was confused.

      Question 1

Everyone vigorously asked very detailed questions about program management - not in a conversation mode but almost in an investigation mode - which was great and important although exhausting. However, I was not able to understand why there were zero interviewers who cared to talk about the context of the program; what program was it, the objectives of the program, my network in that field, my view about how can the role be successful, what will I do to achieve the said objectives (the context being the impact of social media and maybe it was true what everyone said that Facebook/Meta did not care about it). When I (the interviewee) decided to ask about how the program will impact Facebook/Meta's business they literally answered that it is good for the company's image - which was kind of contradicting what they were saying.

One recruiter call, one hiring manager interview then onsite loop of 4 interviews. Overall it’s pretty straight forward and meta has a good and smooth interview process. The recruiter will walk you through everything and their portal gives you enough information

Screening: recruiter + tech. Includes deep dive into one of the programs you led and a lot of whats and whys. Onsite: 5 rounds (project retro, architecture/design, program sense, partnerships/collab, behavioral/leadership). Project retro: past projects with a lot of pokes on scalability, tradeoffs, etc . Design: standard system design but with a TPM lens on execution and tradeoffs. Program Sense: how you build roadmaps, manage budgets, resource utilization ,and handle shifting goals. Partnership: working with cross functional teams. Leadership: again very standard behavioral with team management principles. 2 cents: take the help of a recruiter and ask for docs/resources - mine was super helpful. Refresh on all the aspects including design, program sense, and leadership (helps them choose levels sometimes IC4/IC5/IC6). Do not underestimate project retro - they ACTUALLY have very intense follow-ups. And if you can, talk to someone who’s been there, may be a friend or someone. I found a sr meta tpm on prepfully and he helped a lot, esp w answer structures cause all round are roughly 45 mins and you’ve got to share all your strengths within time. And yeah checkout reddit, blind for up-to-date stories.
