      Entretien

In response to Marketing Assistant Interview posted on 9/16/13. I too had a similar experience with a Metlife recruiter recently. I'm pretty sure it's the same person. Simply stated she was rude, thoughtless and inconsiderate as well. She claimed to have called when I know for a fact that she didn't and then flat out lied about it (I cleared the entire latter half of my day, actually arriving home earlier than usual to wait for her call). Then when I attempted to follow up with her she stopped responding to my emails. Due to this, I never had the opportunity to interview as I was intially promised. I was extremely upset about the way things were mishandled and felt like pursuing it further (by emailing her supervisor), however I was fearful that would cause my name to be "blacklisted" if I ever decided to apply for another position in the future. It's a shame that she is allowed to behave in such an unprofessional and dishonest manner because she knows that job seekers are in a position of mercy. I truly feel that I could have been a Metlife employee by now had her actions not been in the way. Perhaps she is overwhelmed by the number of candidates she has to handle on a daily basis? Even so, that should not be to our detriment. What upsets me is that she probably listed me in her notes as "Unable to contact" or something similar, which would make it appear that I was an unsuitable candidate. Although thoroughly disappointed, I will not be deterred. I will continue my career search and hopefully I will have better, more professional experiences in the future. Good luck to you "Marketing Assistant".
