Entretien pour Paid Social Account Manager

      16 déc. 2016
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      Londres, Angleterre
      Aucune offre
      Expérience neutre
      Entretien difficile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Merkle (Londres, Angleterre) en déc. 2016

      Entretien

      1. submit a CV and cover letter 2. telephone interview lasting 20-30mins 3. skype interview lasting 30mins 4. in-person interview with a presentation (I didn't get through to this stage) I have interviewed with Periscopix on two different occasions (about a year apart) as I really like the firm and what they specialise in. However out of the three individual interviews (application 1 for a grad role in 2015 had one telephone interview; application 2 for this Paid Social Account Manager role in 2016 had one telephone and one skype interview) only one felt positive and like I was being well received. The other two interviews felt a little like the interviewer wasn't really interested in what I had to say and was quite critical of my answers. The grad role I applied for in 2015 stated that no experience was required as it was a grad role, however they asked incredibly technical questions and were visibly disappointed when I didn't know an exact, technical answer (despite answering in layman's terms and getting the majority of the answer correct). The same things happened in my skype interview when I applied for the Paid Social AM role in 2016, despite the job description saying 'While some previous experience in digital marketing would be a plus, it’s not an absolute requirement as we provide a training program to all new joiners.' Advice to applicants: For any role at Periscopix make sure you do serious research into technical and niche aspects of the role, as the interviewer will expect this from you even if the role says no experience required. They may not preface the question with technical jargon, but they will expect it in your answer. So research into the theory of your area (e.g. paid social media marketing) and how you would set up a campaign or recommend to clients etc. Advice to Periscopix (if they read this): I understand that the job market is still incredibly competitive so you need to be selective, but I would advise changing job listings to include accurate details of how much a candidate needs to know. It is unfair to expect several years of practical experience and technical knowledge for grad or entry level roles, and you need to equip candidates with that information so they can fully prepare.

After submitting a CV, there was a video interview which consisted of around 5 short questions (very general). The next stage as a group interview consisted of a scenario based challange (this took place in groups of around 6) followed by a 10 minute individual interview

Initially applied online and was invited for a telephone which mostly covered your motivations for applying, a few technical questions and some more broad questions about your educational background and what you enjoyed most at university/ school. I was then invited back for a group interview a couple of days later at the London offices. There were around ten other candidates present and after a quick presentation from the Periscopix team, we were all asked to give a quick presentation, answer more technical questions related to the role, and then take part in a team exercise. The staff were all really lovely throughout the day and really helped you to feel at ease. After this I was contacted to come back for a third and final interview which involved giving presentation to some more senior members of staff. This involved presenting a response to a marketing brief given in advance. I was then questioned on aspects of my presentation, asked more in depth questions about my motivations for applying for the role, and finally got the chance to ask multiple questions about the role. Generally a very positive experience from beginning to end!

      - Telephone interview discussing CV, experience, education and general questions on Paid Social. Very relaxed and nice, nothing too hard. - Group interview with others. 5 minute speech on some personal questions and 1 chosen question on paid social. Group task regarding ordering items based on importance in a crisis situation. Again a very relaxed atmosphere and the interview conductors were lovely.
