I had a screening call with the internal recruiter, and I was then passed on to meet virtually with two other senior marketing people without any clarification as to how they connected to the role. It was odd, since Meow Wolf doesn’t have a loyalty program so it was more of a lifecycle marketing position. It didn’t seem like they really knew what they were interviewing for. The recruiter followed up with me every week after these two interviews to let me know there was no update but that I was a “top candidate” - this went on for 5 weeks. At the 6th week, the recruiter emailed to say they had JUST hired the VP (they seem to hire a lot of VPs incidentally) that this role would report to, but that person wouldn’t be starting for another month. Yes, that’s right, we’re now talking over two months since I started the interview process and the hiring manager was only just coming onboard. Despite being less than invested by this point, I said I would like to finish the interview process. Anyway, I never heard from them again, and the role was never reposted so they either hired someone else or realized they didn’t need a lifecycle marketing manager after all.
