Was contacted by email from Global Director of Recruiting with initial questions:
Please complete the below questions with your response and interest:
- Are you open to a position located in Idaho Falls, ID? If so, do you have any specific connection to this area?
- Ideal next opportunity, in terms of role, scope and scale?
- Why are you interested in exploring new opportunities at this time and why Melaleuca specifically?
- Are you authorized to work in the United States for any employer?
- Available schedule in the next week for a 30-45 minute call to set up time for interview at corporate headquarters.
Also required to fill out separate additional .pdf application to submit before attending in-person interview.
Scheduled a phone call with Global Director of Recruiting. Call was about 30 minutes, but director kept getting interrupted and placed me on hold several times. Often it seemed he was not listening or attentive to my answers. Call was successful however; asked to schedule in-person interview.
Set up time for in-person interview at corporate headquarters. Was forced to reschedule 3 separate times last minute due to unavailability of staff.
Once arrived at headquarters was given competency test first (required 15 minutes to complete). Initial screening interview with Global Director of Recruiting for 30 minutes. Then department interviews with Marketing and Development directors, about 60 minutes each. Sent thank you emails to interviewers about 2 hours after leaving, received no replies.
Was told I would receive a response regarding position in two weeks. After two weeks and no response, emailed the Global Director of Recruiting again for follow-up. Shortly afterwards, received automated rejection email. No personal contact during this time or afterwards.
I found this to be highly unusual, as I had several glowing recommendations from current and previous employees, and was told during in-person interview that there were several positions open and had discussed which might be the best fit for me. The position I interviewed for is still open 6 months later.
