Entretien
Have interviewed twice for Mecca for 2 different roles.
First role was a phone interview. Went for about 30 minutes asking all the usual questions. Talent rep was 30mins late to the interview, seemed distracted the whole time as well. Ended the phone call with the understanding that they would be in touch within a week with next steps and that the interview was fairly positive / went well. Never heard from them again, completely ghosted. Tried to contact them with an email asking for any update and was ignored.
Second role was a virtual online interview process that was very impersonal and not a great insight to the company.
It involved about 7 video recorded questions which you had 30 seconds to prepare your answer and 2 minutes to record yourself. It was hard as you couldn’t ask questions or get further elaboration on what they were asking, some questions didn’t feel relevant to the role. You were basically put on the spot and talking to yourself.
Following that was written questions - very similar to ones already covered in the application form. Then following that was a series of online games to play.
Again, never heard from anyone - despite the applications for both roles still showing as ‘in process’ on my online candidate page.
Not a great impression of the company. Hiring and interview process definitely needs work. It’s very impersonal and it doesn’t allow you to actually get to know the candidates properly to judge whether they are right for the role or not.

Horrible, impersonal interview process!
For a company that preaches about responsibility and treating people with respect and courtesy, their interview process do not reflect the same values.
You do not even get a call regarding completing a virtual interview. It might end up in your spam inbox and you dont even realise its there.
After you complete the virtual interview where you talk to yourself, you tend to get "ghosted" by the talent team with no update for months. There is no way for you to contact them as you did the interview virtually and have no point of contact.
You are then left in the dark regarding the entire interview process until they decide to give you a call with feedback/with an update which might be months! Again, with no updates/communication while you are waiting which makes you seem like just a number.
I am not sure if this is due to them being understaffed or just too arrogant to care. Either way, it leaves candidates with a poor experience and a negative experience with the brand.

Question 1
Various questions, some of which are not job specific. You get little time to prepare for the questions and you are not even able to ask questions/clarify as you are just speaking to yourself.
