The process was a bit tough and quite lengthy. It took 2 full days of assessments and was a bit cutthroat. You were put into groups on the first day and had to play games among yourselves. The second day, the participants who were shortlisted had to play the games altogether.

It took 5 stages in total, excluding the initial application. Stage 1: Virtual Hangout. This stage just informs you of what to expect, and what the GMAP programme really is. Try preparing some questions to ask them beforehand if you can. No worries if you do not have any questions to ask them. Stage 2: Online Games. Perhaps the most difficult game for me was the mathematical one. Do brush up on your mental mathematic skills if you can. There are also other logical puzzle games which are relatively breezy. If you want to practice for it, consider downloading some puzzle games. There is also a personality quiz later. I highly recommend checking out Maybank's values for that to see if it aligns with you. Stage 3: Assessment Centre. Perhaps the most challenging round. You will be faced with many types of challenges, so bring in your A-game. The qualities that they do look for are your: logic, leadership/team-player skills, observational skills, and your grit. Try to be active in every challenge and contribute to the team. Never stay passive. Even if your team members are weak, try your best to shine and show them what you are capable of. Stage 4: Social Xchange. You will receive the opportunity to have a conversation with other Maybankers. To be honest, I don't really know how the elimination process works here. However, this is your time to get to know what Maybank has to offer and what you can offer them. Show your enthusiasm and ask questions. TBH, I am quite the shy introvert, but this stage isn't really as intimidating as it seem. The Maybankers are more than happy to chat away and it does feel like a light-hearted conversation after a while. You got this! Stage 5: Career Conversation. This is the time for them to get to know you in a more personal level. Try to think of a way to express how you can contribute to the company, and what you do know about the company. They might suggest other roles besides GMAP as well, but don't be disheartened.

      1. Online application 2. Online assessment (work interest/behaviour) 3. You will get invited to attend a series of online sharing session. Topics varying including sharing of experiences by current apprentices and so on. 4. Attend a digital challenge via Zoom where various assessments are conducted include games by team (memory, language, coordination, expression), IQ test, trade test, proposal... During the proposal session, you are required to propose a solution in 1 minute based on the scenario given, there will be an assessor to comment on your solution. Be aware that the assessor can be really harsh on quiet candidates and attack them (purposely challenged). Like during the games, a candidate answer more questions correctly, and the assessor asked what's the candidate's background. I think this is really unprofessional and for an assessor as this act made other candidates feel bad about themselves, in addition, as an assessor, he/she should have the background information of every candidates that he/she need to assess, what's the point of asking that during the assessment? I hope the assessor can be respectful to all candidates.
