The hiring process is very long and wear away. First they do an initial skype interview with their recruiter to get you know better, your experience, your personality, current situation and etc. Then they send you a technical assignment to do for period of 1 week. Mine was to develop an application which imitates a big project with the functionality of an address book - to read and write from/to the local storage of the browser. Then there is a second skype interview with one of their developers, more like a technical interview where he asks you work related questions, some of them were about Javascript, some about the work process in total. Of course you can ask your questions as well. Then there is another skype interview which is suppose to be as they call it 'a pair programming' session with another of their developers. It was basically another examination of mine programming skills, but online, via some interactive web site where both parties log in and see each other's mouse cursors and writings. There were 3 tasks in total, I have been asked to do 2 of them for 30 minutes and the other guy is looking and eventually talking to you during that time. After that last skype interview they asked me for references from my previous employers, I gave them 2 contacts, they called them and spoke with them, and after they got a positive feedback for me they invited me to go to Marbella and meet their CTO and the team in person. I had a few meetings there in person - one with the CTO and another team lead from the company, one again with the same recruiter that was on the first skype interview and then a lunch meeting with the team members. And after that they were supposed to give me an offer.
After the whole process I didn't get an offer - the answer was 'we have too many strong personalities in one place and we don't want to take the risk with you', but the true is that I have never had a real conflict in none of my previous companies and that's why I have managed to keep good relationships with all of them. People who know me say about me that I don't even insist on my opinion enough sometimes just to avoid an eventual conflict. Which stays a complete mistery for me how did they come to this conclusion.
