I applied for a position at Massimo Dutti in Gothenburg/ Sweden despite having heard some negative feedback about the company.
My initial application was submitted via LinkedIn, and shortly after, I received a text message to arrange for an interview. However, communication was inconsistent and average at best, with several of my messages going unanswered.
While I was traveling, we attempted to coordinate an interview, but despite agreeing on a date, the meeting never took place. I called a couple of times and was ignored. Upon my return, I visited the store in person to express my interest. This led to an informal meeting over coffee, during which the person in charge primarily spoke about themselves and repeatedly emphasised their deep personal attachment to the store. This raised some red flags.
They assured me that would provide an update by noon regarding the next steps, but I did not receive any communication until after 5 PM.
Eventually, I was invited for a second interview. During this interview, I felt as though I was being tested rather than genuinely considered for the role. The atmosphere did not feel welcoming, nor did I feel that they had a sincere interest in hiring me.
Following the second interview, I was left in complete silence, with no follow-up regarding the outcome of my application.
Based on my experience, the hiring process lacked professionalism, organization, and respect for candidates’ time.
in the end I'm happy I didn't get the job.
