Phone calls for recruiting followed by hiring manager interviews by phone and then technical screens by phone. Didn't want to do in-person interview due to the fact managers are globally distributed. Phone calls often with multiple people on the phone. The challenge was really understanding what they needed. The requirements were somewhat vague, and the hiring manager didn't really have a good ability to articulate what was needed, and ended up sounding like a couple of laid back guys with too much work to do looking for a magic Guinea pig to solve their workload problem.
