      Entretien pour Branch Assistant Manager

      10 mai 2021
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      Tacoma, WA
      Aucune offre
      Expérience neutre
      Entretien facile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Mariner Finance (Tacoma, WA) en févr. 2021

      Entretien

I enjoyed the first half of my interview, however, towards the end I knew this was not the company for me. They insisted on asking questions regarding the care of my children and I found this to be highly sexist as a woman. Additionally, they admitted to knowing there were moral and ethical issues within their line of work and this gave me an uneasy feeling.

      Entretien

I received a call from the branch manager who is a great guy, who asked me to come in for an interview the following Tuesday. I arrived 10 minutes early, and was let in by one of the employees and taken directly back to interview with the regional manager and branch manager. The interview was approximately 30-40 minutes long, we talked about my background and how it fits into their culture and what my day to day would look like in this position. I asked why the next steps would be in the process and was told that they are still actively interviewing and would be in contact shortly. I did not receive a business card from either interviewer and I could not locate an email to send a follow up or thank you to, so I sent a mailed letter which would have arrived about 1 week later. There was a period of about one month where I did not hear any thing back, until I received a call from the regional manager telling me they would like to make an offer. It was a bit confusing from there on out, at first they had proposed that they could not offer me the Assistant manager position and instead would offer me an employee level position with the idea to be promoted after training. I expressed my concerns about this given there is no guarantee and was not what I had interviewed for and was told they would attempt to appeal it. I received a call back stating they received permission to bring me on at the title of Assistant Branch Manager, and they told me what the pay rate was. The pay rate was much lower than what I was accustomed to making, and I felt like I couldn’t negotiate it because of all of the back and forth about the job title. I requested to receive a copy of the details outlining the bonuses and incentive plans to gauge how it would supplement my base salary but it was never sent to me and I felt left in the dark. Ultimately, I sent another letter thanking them for the offer but expressing that I felt more comfortable declining. I feel like I would have enjoyed working there if the compensation were closer to my band, and just wish the communication was a little better.
