My interview with Mangomint was for an Onboarding Manager role. I had three progressive interviews with the Senior Recruiter, Pod Manager, then Director. Each person was engaging and generous in giving me space to introduce myself as a candidate. They were upfront and honest about the workload/expectations/etc. I've been in the spa industry for years (one type of business their software services) and watched all of their demo/tutorial videos to familiarize with the product. Having worked with a number of booking systems with varying degrees of clunkiness, their design was impressive--very intuitive and weightless. The job centered around onboarding/educating business owners or managers through the transition process of implementing their various platforms. It resonated with me because I've been that manager. I've done that optimism-sucking commission-based payroll. I've labored through that spreadsheet of inventory. I've been in the line of fire when that client shows up with a confirmation for an appointment that is mysteriously nowhere to be found on our books. And it's always somehow on their birthday. Always somehow on their anniversary. And on and on and on. So the idea of supporting that particular client in those particular shoes with systems that could fundamentally solve for so many tedious challenges had more than an intellectual appeal--it struck a sentimental chord with me as well. I was not ultimately offered the position, unfortunately. If I could soften the disappointment by convincing myself they probably aren't that great anyway, I totally would! But every person I met gave me the sense it's a group of hardworking, good-natured, smart people with true enthusiasm for the service they are providing their clients. I think it's that rare company that really is that great. So, all in all, I'm still a fan and was grateful to be given the opportunity.

The interviewer seemed bored and like she didn’t even want to talk to me. She barely asked any questions and didn’t give me a chance to ask any of my own. Similar to another person's experience I got the impression she didn't like that I asked about advancement opportunities in the role. It was honestly weird and ended after 15 mins. Oh and she was 5 minutes late.
