The process stretched over five months (??) – interviews with the recruiter, hiring manager, and then the designers. Tdhy then asked for additional interviews with product and egineering. However, I asked for clarity on the salary band before committing to more discussions, only to be met with uncertainty as they claimed to still be in the research phase (how do you post a job but not have a budget?). Insisting on this crucial information before proceeding, I found myself met with silence for an extended period. Eventually, a salary range was provided (lower than anticipated), followed by another round of silence despite my request for further discussion. Subsequently, an automated rejection arrived.
Upon seeking feedback, I was assigned to a new recruiter who attributed the delay to a software transition and acknowledged the positive feedback from my interviews. Assurances were made of efforts to reverse the rejection after consultation with the hiring manager. However, another week passed with no resolution, only to receive yet another rejection notice when I followed up.
I share this narrative not out of bitterness, but rather as constructive feedback. As a company poised for growth, it's imperative to recognize that behind every application is a human being with expectations and aspirations. I hope that they take this opportunity to reflect on how they can infuse more humanity into their hiring processes.
