Applied online via Macy's website. Received e-mail to schedule interview time via their online system. Arrived at interview with time to spare. While I waited, every employee that passed by said hello or smiled. I met w/ a very nice woman, Hazel. She told me upfront that they had already hired someone for the job. Confusing! We proceeded w/ the interview, which was simple and relaxed. Hazel said she thought I would be a good fit for the position & would put me 'on the bench' in case something else came up. I thanked her and wished her luck w/ their new hire. I was being sincere, as it's always a good thing when someone finds a job.
Update: Received this e-mail from Macy's....

This information is false! I didn't get an offer because they told me they had already hired someone. Wow...be careful w/ this place. They will waste your time interviewing for a job that's not available & then turn the tables & say it's your fault because of your availability! Ha!
