      Entretien

I applied online through their website by uploading my CV and a cover letter. I then got an email saying my CV had caught their attention and I was asked to complete a data analysis exercise. There was a lot of data to look through, despite the task being simple, it did take me a few days to complete the exercise. I sent it back the day before the deadline, then heard back 4 days later asking for my availability for a phone interview. It was then organised for 2 days later. The interview was relatively informal and the person I spoke to was lovely and very easy to speak to, however, they were 30 minutes late to call which can feel like a lifetime when you're nervous and waiting for a call. It sounded like I was one of the first to have a phone interview, as they were yet to look through most of the applications. I heard back 2 weeks later on a Wednesday and was asked to give them my availability to go to an assessment day in their London office. I replied within a few hours, however, didn't hear back till the Friday as to what day this would be. I again replied quickly confirming I could do this, yet didn't hear back again in regards to times and more information. I wanted to book my train and have time to prepare. In the end, I emailed asking for more information, I received a reply quickly but this just sent exact information would be sent the next day. The next day came and I received an email saying that they had decided to suspend the placement since their 'business requirements had changed'. Meaning the position I was applying was no longer a position. I understand this can happen in businesses, but seemed unprofessional considering the time I had spent doing the data exercise and research into the company. I had a positive experience in regards to the people I was in communication with in the business, it was just frustrating that the work I had put in came to nothing.
