      Entretien

The application process at ML6 was thorough and well-organized, with each stage building on the last. Expect roughly a week between steps, so the whole process spans well over a month: Introduction video — The first step was recording a short video to introduce myself. Coding challenge — A take-home challenge where you build a system that uses Google Cloud Endpoints. Coding challenge defense — You then defend your solution in a conversation with two AI engineers from the company. They were very friendly and made it feel like a discussion rather than an interrogation. Paper presentation & defense — If you progress, you give a 20-minute presentation on a research paper, followed by a 20-minute defense. This round needed by far the most preparation: the paper is in a field outside your comfort zone, and they expect you to understand it really well. HR check-in — HR calls to ask about your experience with the application process so far. A nice touch that shows they genuinely care about candidates. HR is clearly very busy given the number of applicants, but they were always respectful and friendly, and accommodating around things like school projects and scheduling. Final interview — A one-hour conversation with your prospective team leader and a senior colleague, focused on your motivations, interests, and overall fit. Overall: A demanding but fair and well-structured process. The people I spoke with were friendly and respectful throughout. It's a selective process — I prepared a lot, and several strong candidates I know (around four, all with very good backgrounds) didn't make it through. My advice: take it seriously and invest real time in the paper round and final interview, as those are the ones that separates candidates.
