Got an invitation to a hiring event, where I talked with several different DHs, PLs, TLs, and HR personnel as to the type of work being performed and what my interests were. Kept in touch with a couple of individuals and came in for an interview about a month later. Overall process took about 2 hours, and even got a free lunch out of it. Got a call about a week later with an offer, and came on board after my 2 weeks notice at my previous employer.

Hiring manager or one of their subordinates conduct interviews, often two or three individuals interview candidate followed by department hiring manager. Interviewers submit recommendations to hire or not. Hiring packages take weeks to be approved. Two months on average.

Talked to an HR person. For the interview I spoke with 3 different people, two division leads and one person who was at a similar level to the position I was being interviewed for. The questions were conceptual and easy.
