      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 5 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez MAKO Design + Invent (Ontario, CA) en nov. 2021

      Entretien

The entire interview process what cumbersome and time consuming. They first ask you to fill out a questionnaire that is 20+ questions long. This isn't too bad but they ask very basic questions that could easily be covered in a 5 minute call. It took them over a month to get back to me about the questionnaire. Then I had an interview with 2 PM's. That interview went really well. Another month later they contacted me to do a CAD test to make sure that I was able to do the work. Not a bad thing, they are just doing their homework, but it felt like I was being put on the spot. The person watching me work was silent the entire time and didn't talk to me about the role or what it was like to work for Mako. I asked what the topic was for the CAD test and what I would be designing. Understandably, they didn't give me any material before the test but I was asked to design on the fly in 50 minutes. After the CAD test, and another month down, I met with the founder of Mako. The meeting went well and he told me they would get back to me in a few days with next steps. It has been over a month since that last meeting and they have gone completely silent. Trust me, I know I didn't het the job, however, the entire process felt like I was proving myself to them. It feels like there was a lack of respect when it came to the time commitment I put into interviewing process. The entire process took 4.5 months to get through. Again, not saying that their process is bad but you'd think if you got that far in their process you'd be on a short list of candidates. They never cut me loose or contacted me thanking me for my time. The process felt one sided and like I'd be lucky to work for them. At the end of the day, that is not how a company should treat a prospective employee.
