      Entretien

Applied online, had a phone screen about a week later followed by a quick SQL test, an interview with an analyst at HQ the next week and then an On-site about 2 week’s later. All in all the process took about a month. The recruiters and team were all great and easy to work with.

      Entretien

The entire interview process at Lyft was both thorough and efficient. I was fortunate to have a friend who works at Lyft refer me for the position. The first step was the typical screening phone call from the recruiter. After this call, we scheduled a call with the hiring manager to take place a couple days later in the week. On the call, we discussed the work that I had done, and the manager was very interested in learning about the details of a lead-to-patient funnel that I had created for my current employer. He asked thoughtful questions and asked me to describe a way that we had used this new process to improve operations. The call went really well, and I immediately had a lot of respect for the hiring manager. Within 24 hours of completing the second phone call, I was asked to complete a timed 90 minute online test. The test included mostly multiple choice questions covered topics like data aggregation and cost-benefit analysis. There were two free response answers at the end of the test as well covering conversion funnel and incentive program creation. I did, and highly recommend doing, some research on the web before taking the test. It helped me to know what to expect when sitting for the live test. Overall the timing for the test felt appropriate given that you were confident in your method and answers for each question. Again, within 24 hours of completing the test, I was invited to come in to Lyft HQ for my first of two rounds of in person interviews. The interviewers were extremely flexible, accommodating my work schedule, and allowed me to start my day early so I could be back in the office timely On the first interview day, I met with the hiring manager, the Head of Analytics, and a Senior Data Analyst. Each of the sessions was essentially a brain-storming session around a case study. All of the interviewers were extremely approachable and friendly, but asked good questions to challenge my assumptions and force me to think carefully through the problem. The second round of interviews took place a little longer after the first because I had a pre-planned vacation. Again, Lyft was great with their scheduling, and was able to setup my second interview on the exact day that I had set aside for that purpose. The second round of interviews was similar to the first, only this time I met with the hiring manager and three of his direct reports in 4 serial interviews. Content was once again case studies mostly based around problems that each person is currently working through. After the final interview, I sat down with my recruiter and she took time to cover a lot of the benefits of working at Lyft (there are quite a few!) and was patient to answer any questions I had. Later that same afternoon, my recruiter emailed me to ask to send over references. I was impressed that my hiring manager made a point to personally call each of the people I listed. I was told that he asked deep and thoughtful questions of each person. I received an offer a couple hours after the last reference call was complete. Overall, the experience was quick and well executed. Through the entire experience, I never felt ignored or left wondering what was next in the process. From my experience, Lyft has done a great job hiring qualified, smart people who are also genuinely good people. I'm thrilled to be joining the team.
