Submitted CV online then invited for group interview in the shop. Were asked to present someone we paired with, then work in groups to create a selection of gifts within a certain budget. We were also asked to prepare a short presentation on our favourite Lush product and then present it to a small group and a supervisor. It seemed quite intimidating at the beginning, but everyone bonds over that initial fear, and the staff didn't want us to feel nervous.
Offered a trial shift a few days after the group interview, then on the trial shift offered the job.
They specified in the email they wanted us to demonstrate our personalities, and since working there I have realised there is no 'one' person, despite how the staff present themselves with customers. It is actually a really diverse team in terms of personality, and they are looking to fill in the gaps in their team. So, if you don't get it it might not be because of your capabilities, but because they just genuinely want a different dynamic.
I would also say don't try to be what you think Lush expect, just be as authentically yourself as possible. The staff are really perceptive and can tell if someone isn't being genuine, but presenting what they think Lush want. That facade is difficult to maintain, and you probably won't get the job that way.
