I recently interviewed for a JavaScript Fullstack Engineer role at Lumenalta and unfortunately the experience was quite disappointing.
My first call was with the recruiter, and from the start, the conversation felt unprofessional and dismissive. When I mentioned my volunteer work with a non-profit organization supporting mental health, the recruiter harshly questioned why anyone would work for free—which felt inappropriate and unnecessary.
Additionally, midway through the call, the recruiter abruptly paused the interview and stated that they were only looking for someone with different technology experience even though it was never mentioned in the job posting. If it was truly a requirement, it should have been stated upfront to avoid wasting candidates' time.
I hope they improve their recruitment process to ensure a more respectful and structured experience for future candidates.

I had a very short Google hangout with someone from HR then did met the founder on Zoom. Everyone was really nice, and it sounds like they're doing interesting work. When it came to salary though - they just don't pay enough. Everyone is corp to corp - there are no benefits. And the founder tells me that they are paying extremely senior guys about 40% less than what I am making now.
They tout themselves as hiring senior people from Google and the like, but that really doesn't seem possible given their salary expectations. No developer at Google is going to take a 50% or highr pay cut with no benefits for the promise of "working on esomething cool." I was upfront about what I was currently making, and didn't ask for more.
The founder tried to convince me that what I'm making now isn't going rate. I can tell you that I've done a tone of interviewing and worked in lots of contract jobs and that he's flat wrong. In fact I just took another position at the "unrealistic" rate . There are a number of other people on Glassdoor with exectly the same complaint.
Everybody is remote and corp to corp - so they have very very few expenses. I can only conclude that they are either charging their clients way too little or they are they are taking a much higher cut of their consultants earnings than is reasonable.
