The interview process was fairly long, I had to take an assessment, then a screening call with the Recruiter, a call with the Senior Manager, a call with the Senior Director, and finally took a proctored assessment, all before being eligible to come onsite. Through this process I was told I had an exceptional background and would be an asset to the team, therefore they were planning on expediting me through the process. I am employed full time, so it was difficult to find the time to make all these calls and assessments happen, but I did so because they were excited about me and I was excited about them. Come to my surprise, after submitting my assessment I hear nothing for two days. Finally, I email the Recruiter who tells me the hiring team will "sync early next week." I had already informed her I could come in early next week, and was confused why I was suddenly being halted. Yesterday morning, I got a call that they would not be continuing with me because they had hired other people. My recruiter told me it had nothing to do with my background, they had just brought other people onsite last week. I received no transparency that this might be an issue and am shocked that my recruiter never informed me of this, especially after I was told that I would be pushed through the process quickly. As someone who works in this industry, I am upset that candidates are treated this way, especially when they have the background you are supposedly looking for. I highly recommend in the future you are transparent with candidates so this does not happen again. All around, an incredibly disappointing experience.
