      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Linguamatics (Cambridge, East of England, England)

      Entretien

After a screening via phone I was invited to a 1st round interview assuming I completed a programming task and brought it in. After the online submission of the task my interview was canceled without leaving me space to defend my implementation. Before working out the solution I asked specifically via email if there were any specific desires on the implementation. The interviewer mentioned that I could choose anything I deem appropriate as long it's something that is functional during the interview. The task was to make a webpage with some statistics which I submitted in time and according to the requirements. The biggest red flag is that the company did not give room to defend my implementation in such an early stage and simply canceled the interview.

We are sorry that you feel that you were not given room to comment on your test results. Please be assured that all tests returned to us are thoroughly reviewed, usually by 2 people, and based on the feedback from the reviewers we decide if the results are strong enough for the candidate to be a good technical fit for the team they will be working with. Taking the test does not guarantee a final interview. When we invite candidates to take a test we always advise them that if the results are not strong enough, we will cancel the interview. This is done out of consideration for the candidate because we appreciate that taking time off work to attend an interview can be difficult and we don't want to inconvenience someone by asking them to attend an unnecessary interview. We wish you had contacted us directly with your feedback before commenting on Glassdoor. We do our best to be approachable and fair towards all interview candidates and always welcome the chance to put things right if they have gone wrong.
