At first the process was okay. I was contacted by email to do a phone interview which seemed to go well. The job seemed intriguing enough to go in for an in person interview. Prior to the face to face interview, I had to take a couple of personality assessments. The questions were very biased and were not applicable. When it came time for the interview, most of the time was spent going over the personality assessments. Before that, I was being interrogated rather than interviewed/talked to. The Hiring Manager was shoving words into my mouth and was belittling me throughout. When she reviewed the personality assessment scores she told me she doesn’t use them for her hiring decision but rather as a development tool which was clearly a lie. She was basically telling me that I didn’t have the right personality to be in the HR profession which is nonsense because I have done well in all my HR positions. Then she goes on to tell me that the test results showed her that I can’t manage my time and she then accused me of manipulating the test results. Overall, it was an awful experience. Pretty pathetic when the hiring manager can’t make decisions and has to solely rely on a personality assessment which is not relevant to your work performance at all. If the hiring manager was that rude and unprofessional during the interview, I can’t imagine having to work with her. I definitely dodged a bullet here, thank goodness! Don’t waste your time applying to this company.
