Long, drawn out process lasting 4+ weeks (unpaid), with projects and ongoing contributions required. It felt a little like a behavioral analysis measure by attrition. There were also personality type indexes required.

The company hires independent contractors, not employees. The distinction is an important one. The interview process is a bit odd, in that the company relies heavily upon pseudo-psychology for screening their potential contractors. In addition to the standard resume and cover letter, the submission of a short essay about yourself and a "passion paragraph" are also required. After the initial interview, there may be more. How many is determined by how many of the positions they believe you to be a good fit for that you decide to apply to. Once you have been accepted for hire, you will then begin the New Hire process, which is the completion of tasks designed to help determine your work style and skills. The tasks are to be completed over the course of a week or two and you will only be compensated for a few hours of your time. Upon completion of the New Hire process you will then be required to train for the position(s) that you are applying to work in. You may complete both at the same time, if you'd rather, but all told this is a 2-3 week process. Unlike the New Hire tasks, the position specific training is fully compensated, though.
