A recruiter reached out to me about this lead role, and I spoke interviewed with the hiring manager. This went well, so I said yes to a take-home code assignment which they said should take 2-3 hours. After informing the recruiter I was done, he said they'd take a look. After a week, no one had contacted me so I reached out again. Radio silence. I reached out to a friend of mine higher up in the company to let him know I have other opportunities waiting, and I would appreciate a rejection if they have decided to pass on me. Within hours, the silent recruiter suddenly messaged back saying that he was glad I had found another opportunity, and that based on the code sample they would not be proceeding with the offer. This company wasted hours of my personal time and then would have ghosted me if I had not had an internal contact. Do not waste your time interviewing here.
