Brief and straightforward. They asked about my background and hypothetical questions. Also did an excel test. I was nervous at first but turned out just fine. Can’t believe I worried for nothing
I recently interviewed for the Senior Systems Engineer position at Landstar and had a mixed experience overall.
The interview process consisted of three rounds: an initial HR screening, followed by a technical interview with the team, and a final discussion. The technical questions were of moderate difficulty and fairly aligned with the role, giving a reasonable opportunity to demonstrate relevant skills and experience.
However, the coordination and communication from HR could be improved. There were noticeable delays between rounds, and it often took several days to receive updates or feedback, which made the process feel somewhat unstructured.
Overall, while the interview content itself was solid and relevant, the scheduling and communication aspects of the process left room for improvement.

Getting onboarded with LANDSTAR was a nightmare, it was like our recruiter didn’t want to do her job let our application stagnate because one of former employers wasn’t responding to a fax. Instead of reaching out to anyone she just kept re-sending a fax for three weeks before when we finally called to see what was going on. She did the absolute least amount of work possible to help us and when we were on the phone it was like really putting her out.
