An atrocious and frankly shocking experience. I was asked to apply for this role and, despite repeated recommendations by the recruiter to Land Securities regarding my experience, HR removed me from the interview experience stating that "they don't hire people with 2:2 university degrees"; this shows a severe disregard for my 10+ years of relevant industry experience. This is shocking given the company's CEO Robert Noel — on their own careers/diversity page — states that he is "...a strong believer that people should be appointed into job roles based on merit irrespective of gender, race, age or any other discriminating factor" — the irony. You hear about this kind of elitism occurring in FTSE 100 companies, but it's not until you experience it that you realise how very real it still is today.
