I applied on LinkedIn and a Senior Recruiter reached out to me to schedule a phone interview for the following Monday morning . I never received a call, I emailed to reschedule, and she said how about Monday afternoon? I said that works, and she misses that call as well. She finally schedules a call for Thursday morning and sends a calendar invite so I know this is one is legitimate. We speak and she immediately invites me in for an in person interview.
The interview was 2 hours and I was supposed to meet with 3 team members, as well as the recruiter at the end. The actual interview went well until my last meeting with the recruiter where she never showed up. I was left sitting in a conference room for 25 minutes where I had to go out into the hall to find somebody to see if they could find the recruiter. After getting in contact with her, they said she took an emergency day off and they're so sorry.
I get an email from the recruiter right away saying let's schedule a phone call for tomorrow to hear about how the interview went. She never called me, I emailed twice and then I finally decided to give it one more shot and email a week later. She responds right back and says I'll give you a call this afternoon, and she said they were going in a different direction with somebody who has more experience in the role.
They knew upfront that my experience wasn't in this exact field and they were okay with training somebody, which to me means they just didn't see me fitting in which was okay, but the fact that it took a week to get back to me to reject me only after my 3 emails is what made it worse. What a waste of time
