had to do an FE home assignment and after I sent it was called for an interview with the cto (which is the ceo).
asked 3 times before the interview if I should bring a laptop and was answered no.
got to the interview, CEO asks me to showcase the project, I said but you said not to bring a laptop, so I ask one, then was given one without any dev tools so I couldn't event git clone what I've done.
this led to an embarrassingly long IT session.
then the CEO says lets drop that, and starts asking me personal questions,
first he makes a quip that it looks like I was born two years ago as my cv has only relevant info from those years.
i asked him if the fact he was a delivery man as a student has something to do with his position as a CEO?
my cv covers relevant info.
he seemed let down that I didn't let him bully me then.
then asks if I am in an active draft, miluim, and this is an illegal question mind you, and a very bad one to ask in these times.
then looks at cv, says im seeing you only using the same technologies in a mocking tone, mostly js, react and mongo.
i asked him what is his tech-stack.
he answers - mostly js, react and mongo....
later he starts asking random questions.
tried to answer from what i known, on what i didn't he didn't let go or skipped and kept on proding, if i don't know, and i say i don't know, even if you ask a third... i wouldn't know.
was very odd scene.
then he and the manager exchange looks saying oh we ran out of time we need to go, so do you have any questions?
like i have 2 minutes to answer question and its my fault for taking their time.
if this is how they manage their process... good luck to the employees.
