J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez KidKraft (Dallas, TX) en avr. 2022
Entretien
I applied online, and had a first interview about 15 days later. This interview was a while ago, but I feel like this first call was just a screening by HR. Then I had an interview with the Industrial Design Director approx. five days after the first call, and then an interview with the VP of Creative and the Principal Designer two days following. I was brought for an onsite interview 20 days later and met with various teams. I was not offered the position. I believe the reason was simply that there was another candidate more enthusiastic about the role than I was (which was probably accurate, as I was familiar with the other candidate who was offered the position and accepted it), but that's not what I was told. HR gave me a list of reasons why I wasn't chosen on a phone call after I did not receive an offer. It wasn't the best interview experience, it also wasn't the worst. In terms of difficulty, it was very standard.

Question 1
Can you show some examples of your past work? They proposed a possible toy category, and asked me to think of some ideas in that category (sort of a design test, rather brief).

I applied online and once the application was submitted I received a "Thank you for applying" message. No email confirming the application had been submitted though (first red flag). I did not get any news until a month later in the form of a text message (not an email, which was strange) from HR. This person referred to me by the wrong name (second red flag) so I had to confirm the message was intended for me, which she confirmed it was, apologizing she had messaged a lot of people that day. A phone call was then scheduled for a few days later. Phone call was her, mostly telling me about the company and the benefits, but it sounded like she was doing me more of a favor by interviewing me and giving me her time because she kept mentioning how many people she had called already. I did not enjoy her demeaning and indifferent attitude. I stayed as polite as possible because Kidkraft is a company I've always been excited to work for. This whole interaction with HR changed my mindset. At the end of the phone call she explained what the next steps were and the waiting game began. After two weeks I tried reaching out for any updates, but I did not hear back at all, not even a rejection letter. I found the entire process extremely unprofessional, specially the part where she used the wrong name and texted rather than emailed. I do not recommend this company to anyone seeing the interview process is very unprofessional and the company itself has below average employee reviews.

Question 1
Interviewer mostly talked about herself and the company. She simply asked why I'd like to work for Kidkraft.
