I applied online through Glassdoor. There was about a two week lag between applying and getting a response. I was given the option to either conduct a Skype interview with one of their engineers or I could work on a mini-project, submit my work, and then go through a code review with an engineer. I chose the latter. Interview was really brief - about 25 minutes. Interviewer was cordial, if a bit brief. Overall, not a bad experience.

Nothing terribly unexpected. Know your algorithms and data structures foundations, thoroughly review your code (if you're doing the project option), question yourself about why you wrote your answers the way you did. Most importantly, relax and try not to over-think your responses during the interview. Preparing beforehand will greatly help with the latter.

Entretien
I was given the choice of a Skype interview or a "project-based interview;" I chose the latter. They suggested it would take 3-5 hours, but no more than 12. It took me about 5-6. I learned a LOT from the project, and from the follow-up interview. Khan Academy really has education as a priority to their core, even through the interview process! I'm disappointed I did not get a second interview, as I feel I could have learned a lot and really grown with them.
