This was one of the worst interviews I have ever had. I met with the PR Manager and the Senior Account Executive, who would be the supervisor for the position, and neither seemed to enjoy their jobs. I felt that I brought an upbeat, positive, and inquisitive attitude to the interview, only to be met with what felt like boredom and judgement from the other side of the table. I like to think of myself as a social, friendly person, but this interview was very robotic; we never got to a conversational tone and instead just exchanged questions and answers.
In addition to the interview there was a three part writing test: edit an email, reformat/edit and populate an Excel spreadsheet, and write a press release based on info they provided. It was pretty straightforward, with some trick "questions" in the Excel portion.
I went into the interview having looked at this company's low Glassdoor ratings, hoping to find evidence of something different, but from what I could see the ratings rang true.
They did not offer me the position. In my email response to this news, I asked for feedback on my interview; I learn best from constructive criticism and feel that it's a completely appropriate request. I never heard back from them, but after all of this, I honestly wasn't surprised.
